RESD (Rapid Embed Secure Digital) is a new 3D storage solution designed specifically for internal use in smartphones and tablets. The Custom Motherboards concept incorporates this technology, utilizing its standard mSD contacts and size while ensuring compatibility with both RESD cards and mSD cards. Upon detection, the last row of contact on the RESD slot sends a unique request, which is replied only by the final row of the RESD card. This guarantees that the slot identifies it as an RESD card and enables full utilization of all slots.
