Rescue Bar Clamp - without disassembling of Prusas Mendel
thingiverse
This replacement clamp part is for use on a broken clamp without disassembling your printer. The rod distance measures 9.5mm from center points, fitting Prusa's Mendel model. An easy-to-print version is under consideration. To adjust friction and other parameters, modify the OpenScad file. Print both parts (rclamp_plate.stl) - first secure the screw part on top rod, then close the Rescue Clamp Box with lock part and lower rod using a 20mm M3 hexagon bolt and nut. For increased friction, use tape on the smooth lower rod. A durability test began on 15.12.2012. Experiments include an OpenScad-file for a hexagon bar clamp, but it's currently a development version with limitations; additional bolts and nuts are needed for stability due to PLA's shearing force resistance.
