Reptile Water Bowl / Bath

Reptile Water Bowl / Bath

thingiverse

We have a Bearded Dragon, and my wife wanted a larger bathing option for it. This was the perfect opportunity to justify getting a 3D printer. I created the design in Fusion 360 and processed it in Slic3r. I'm still learning about the printing process, so I kept the resolution at 0.2 Quality with 20% fill but added four top and bottom layers along with four perimeter walls. The bath is approximately eight inches by eight inches and 0.75 inches tall, with a water depth of about 0.5 inch. It took around thirteen hours to print. Safety and longevity are important considerations. Both PLA and PETG plastics are generally considered food safe, but some dyes and additives might not be. The bowl will be painted with non-toxic acrylics and coated with plasti-dip to seal the paint.
