Reproduction Toki - Traditional Maori Adze

Reproduction Toki - Traditional Maori Adze

thingiverse

This reproduced adze mirrors traditional Maori craftsmanship from New Zealand, featuring a typical pounamu blade - a nephrite resembling jade. High-quality specimens are often used in jewelry, like pendant necklaces. Instead of native flax bindings, I employed PTFE threadseal tape for my version. Credit to Bronwyn Holloway-Smith (http://bronwyn.co.nz) and Vik Olliver under CC-BY-SA license. The displayed model is half-sized; the full-scale adze measures 220mm across, possibly requiring diagonal printing. You may opt for alternative blade materials such as clear acrylic or genuine pounamu.
