RepRapPro Ormerod 2 bed cable suspension
thingiverse
This is an add-on designed specifically for RepRapPro's Ormerod 2 printer.\nThe bed cable on one of the two Ormerods that I operate would often get snagged and dragged across into the depression on the right y-plate as the bed moved back and forth during a print, causing me to worry about the cable getting bent or jammed underneath the bed or caught in the y-axis motor, resulting in a messy failed print. Interestingly, this issue was not occurring on the second Ormerod due to its less floppy bed cable shielding which kept the cable away from the motor and the y end plate thanks to its springiness.\nTo resolve this problem, I created an accessory that attaches securely to the Ormerod 2's PSU housing via the same bolt that holds the acrylic brace in place (see photos). Additionally, a soft spring and a cable tie are required for the complete assembly. This design keeps the bed cable safely away from the motor and potential snagging under the heated bed (see photos).\nPrint Settings\nPrinter Brand: RepRap\nPrinter: Ormerod 2\nRafts: No\nSupports: No\nNotes: Standard settings for PLA/ABS printing
