RepRapPro Huxley Duo fan mount with nuts and bolts
thingiverse
I'm incorporating RepRapPro Huxley Duo capabilities into my existing RepRapPro Huxley printer setup. The standard print cooling fan mounting mechanism isn't my favorite due to the way the fan is secured. Printed pins are being replaced with nuts and bolts in this DIY hack. This approach involves modifying the original STL file using OpenSCAD, and a link to the modified part is included within the .scad file itself. The inspiration behind this redesign came from Alzibiff's Ducted Fan for RepRapPro Huxley, but with a key difference: the nut slots are rotated by 90 degrees to make the assembly process easier. Installation Steps: Mount this custom piece on the back (flat) side of your x-carriage using self-tapping screws – exactly as you would with the original part. Position two DIN 934 M3 nuts within the slots, and then secure the fan using two M3x16 bolts. While DIN 7985 bolts can be used, I believe DIN 912 would also be a suitable option.
