To construct an inexpensive, lightweight quadcopter, I selected parts from HobbyKing and eBay. The total cost is approximately £200, and the weight is around 1.4kg. Parts include a MultiWii 328P Flight Controller, Turnigy 2217 20turn 860kv 22A Outrunner motors, Turnigy Plush 25amp Speed Controllers, 10x4.5 SF Props, Zippy Flightmax 5000mAh 3S1P 20C battery, a Turnigy Accucel-6 Balancer/Charger, an On Board Lipoly Low Voltage Alarm, Hobby King transmitter and receiver, and various wires, heat shrink tubes, screws, and carbon fiber tubes. The motors are secured with m3 screws, and the carbon fiber tubes fit snugly without glue. M4 bolts secure the base and top to the central rod holders, and the flight control board and receiver sit on top. This configuration has proven durable and capable of lifting up to 1kg of payload.
