The RepRap Wallace was my first 3D printer, serving me faithfully for about four years now. It tends to shake around quite a bit, though, and over time, some of its plastic parts have cracked. I also noticed that it isn't the most structurally stable design, relying on the weight of the printer to keep itself from twisting. I had a load of 2020 aluminum T-slot profile lying around, so I decided since I had to reprint some parts for it anyway, I would try and stiffen it up a bit and make it more stable by adapting the base to take this aluminum profile instead of threaded rods. It is still a work in progress and hasn't yet been tested. I still have to print out the new base blocks and attempt to rebuild my printer with them.
