RepRap Universal Mini Extruder

thingiverse

This printable extruder is compatible with various open-source 3D printers, including RepRap Mendel (both standard and Prusa) and Huxley. Key features include a 1.75mm filament, an adaptable mounting plate, a compact NEMA 11 motor with high torque, active ducted fan cooling for enhanced reliability, Wade-style hobbed bolt filament transport, and a wing-nut drive that distributes torque evenly on plastic gears. The hot-end parts are easily replaceable, and the PTFE liner can be swapped out as well. This design was inspired by Jstkatz's extruder, specifically the use of a lever to trap filament against its drive. Detailed assembly instructions and a Bill of Materials are available on the RepRap Wiki (http://reprap.org/wiki/RepRap_Universal_Mini_Extruder). The lightweight extruder weighs 420g, has a compact design (110mm x 90mm x 80mm), and uses M3-threaded rods for fixings.
