Introducing the groundbreaking Simpson 3D printer with a build volume of approximately 10L and a build area diameter of around 350mm. Its height capacity reaches up to 190mm. With an impressive speed of over 200mm/s, this delta printer can achieve realistic print speeds of 60mm/s. The cost-effective device is available for just $390. However, please note that this model has been marked as deprecated. To assemble the Simpson, follow the provided PDF guide and install rubber bands on each arm one by one until the effector can move to any desired location within the print volume. Subsequently, set up a mechanical advantage system using fishing line for all positions in the build volume. Further assembly instructions will be shared as the printer is built. The creator plans to release parametric OpenSCAD files for various Simpson variants in the future. Before running the printer for the first time, ensure that you load your preferred firmware and calibrate all motors accordingly. Update parameters.py with your machine specifications and run zero.py to initiate the calibration process using the gauge.stl tool. To operate the Simpson, use any desired slicer program, but remember that the middle of the bed corresponds to 0,0,0 coordinates. Pre-process the generated gcode with segmitize.py for proper coordinate transformation. Adjust offsets in parameters.py based on your dry runs for optimal performance.
