This simplistic spool holder supports a plastic spool over your RepRap due to limited desk space. It works well with charlespax's cardboard spool design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1550). The creator has also designed a printable spool that fits the stand, featuring a 10mm top slot and 8mm bottom slots for RepRap Mendel's studding. Designed for minimal assembly, it can be made from wood but may be wasteful. An optional design with flanges for bolt-on security is available if desired. The holder includes bushings to protect cardboard spools from threaded rod damage. Assembly instructions: print two frames, slot bars through your spool, and rest on top of the stand; the latest 1.3 design allows clamping with bolts instead of zip-ties or string.
