Reprap Prusa i3 Z belt tensioner
thingiverse
I needed to fortify the z-axis drive belt of my Reprap, so I designed this compact device for use with an 8x24x5mm radial bearing. The top and bottom have holes for M3 nuts allowing you to screw it together seamlessly. Adjusting the size of the nut holes can be done by modifying $r_nuts in the .scad file. Work is ongoing - I'm still tweaking this project, so use at your own risk! This isn't finished yet; a lot more work needs to be done. Print Settings Printer Brand: Reprap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 30 Notes: I print with PLA at 195°C to minimize oozing. Also, when printing this design I set the shell thickness to 1.0mm so that the shaft becomes solid. This proved to be a successful strategy!
