The original Reprap Morgan tool-head design, created by Quentin Harley, was specifically tailored for use with a J-head hot-end. This replacement version is designed to work seamlessly with an E3D V6 3 or 1.75 mm Bowden hot-end featuring a standard press-fit connector. The split tool-head design ensures that the hot-end is securely clamped in place by its groove mount, rather than relying on the original Morgan wire clip fitting which could potentially compromise z-axis calibration during filament changes. An extender button has been included in the scad file to allow for easy depression of the E3D's press-fit connector when changing filaments. The scad also includes options for installing a bearing retainer ring, capacitive z-probe, LED lamp bracket, and clip to attach an active cooling duct to the PSI B arm that carries the tool-head. Print Settings Printer: Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 70 % Notes: Print in ABS. The tool-head design incorporates required support structures. To assemble, print the two parts of the tool-head together and then separate them at the horizontal split line. The clamp bolts are 3 x 20 mm, and associated nuts fit tightly into their nut-traps - carefully heat them with a soldering iron to ensure proper seating. Self-tapping screws can be used to attach the bearing retainer ring and lamp bracket, which can be retrieved from a VHS cassette tape (cut to length as needed). Designed entirely from scratch in OpenScad using original Reprap Morgan toolhead dimensions.
