Updated on Aug 14, 2013 - Find my updated profiles for printing using the latest version of ReplicatorG 40 (r16) and Sailfish. My guide to installing Sailfish firmware on Replicator 2/2X is available at thingiverse.com/thing:61022. Improvements include a 5D pre-prime sequence with slow wipe, 100 micron profile with a 200 micron first layer, an improved dwindle setting to reduce stringing, and a 340 micro zero fill profile for printing stretchlet bracelets. Material profiles match - use PLA for PLA and ABS for ABS, the only difference being packing density. An enhanced zipper is also included. To utilize these profiles, differentiate in Extruder Temperature control from Replicator 2 menu that overrides any non-zero settings in gcode. Set Utilities->Preheat Settings and choose temperature for printing. For small prints (<40mm x 40mm), use 225°C, while large prints (>40mm x 40mm) need 230°C, with Black PLA requiring about 5°C more. Implement firmware deprime and retraction - set firmware deprime to 16 steps in onboard preferences, and Retraction Distance in Skeinforge Dimension module should be 2mm. Print-O-Matic no longer requires default start/end gcode due to customized start & end code alteration files. The 100 micron profile offers slow but high-quality prints, with six bottom and top layers for compensation. Recommended settings include Object Infill (20-100%), Layer Height (0.1 or 0.15 mm), Number of Shells (1, 2, 3), Feedrate (120 mm/s), and Travel Feedrate (150 mm/s). The 200 micron profile offers faster printing but uses the Skeinforge Skin module to create a 100-micron outer perimeter, ideal for certain object types. Recommended settings are Object Infill (10-100%), Layer Height (0.2 or 0.3 mm), Number of Shells (1, 2), Feedrate (120 mm/s), and Travel Feedrate (150 mm/s). The fastest profile is the 340 micron, best suited for large objects with uniform rectangular faces and chamfered edges. Recommended settings include Object Infill (10-100%), Layer Height (0.34 mm), Number of Shells (1), Feedrate (120 mm/s), and Travel Feedrate (150 mm/s). The 340 micron zero fill profile is designed for printing hollow, single-shell items like scrunchlet bracelets, with Object Infill set to 0%, Layer Height at 0.34 mm, Number of Shells at 0, and Feedrate (40 mm/s), Travel Feedrate (80 mm/s).
