Replicator Z-Shaft PreLoader
thingiverse
This plastic spring preloads the Z-axis guide shafts against one endplate on Replicator 1. In a build platform rebuild, slop in the plywood plate capturing Z-shaft bottom may cause wobbliness. However, upper plates may not have this issue. This part, when printed, can be inserted between the back plate and shaft to press the shaft against one side of its capture plate, potentially reducing wobbly build platform issues. For printing, use 50% fill, 0.2mm layers, 80mm/s (120mm/s travel), 235°C extruder, Sailfish Firmware. Before using, test the printer to determine the number of springs needed based on Z-axis shaft wobbliness. Print as many required and insert them between the back wall and shaft for a snug fit. Keep an eye on upper plates for slop development and print more springs if necessary.
