This is an adaptation that I created to suit my needs, and I'd like to share it with others who might appreciate it. Remix of: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:615358 By: muzz64 The original design was solid, although slightly wide in the locking mechanism; however, it presented an issue on my machine, as the support would eventually slide from side to side and fail to provide support at the very end of the build plate. I aimed to create a modification that would make the support stronger while keeping costs low, easy to print, and lightweight. The resulting design is wider, longer, and thicker than its predecessor. I incorporated features similar to those found in another version I've seen. Being almost identical in length (minus 0.75mm) to the original build plate's under part, it effectively limits movement from side to side (X axis). Moreover, its width closely matches that of the build plate (minus 2 to 3 mm), thus supporting the entire plate (Z axis). To prevent the support from moving around, I added three pins that securely fit into the printer's build plate support. With a simple push, it's locked in place. This support plate is designed for optimal performance on the Replicator Mini. The honeycomb pattern underneath adds strength while maintaining low weight. It weighs approximately 46.23 grams and took around 4 hours to complete. If you prefer, you can experiment with thicker layers (300) or lighter infill levels; in my opinion, it won't have a significant impact. However, please refrain from using 10% infill settings.
