Replicator Cozy Frame
thingiverse
Acrylic enclosures enhance heat retention and prevent drafts, thus improving print quality on your Replicator; however, they can be costly. As an alternative, create a Replicator Cozy out of cloth, starting by constructing a frame above the printer to keep the cloth away from filament feed and cables. Further details on printing procedures are available at http://joesmakerbot.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-long-did-this-print-take-lionel.html. To proceed, print the 8th plate (the 7th is provided for testing purposes). Cut 1/2" square dowels to measurements of 4 x 16 1/4", 4 x 4 1/4", and 4 x 10". Assemble the wooden parts with joints, and optionally secure the dowels into these joints. In the meantime, sew a cloth covering for your Replicator (work in progress). Despite some uncertainty regarding the Cozy's effectiveness, the frame has proven successful.
