Replicator 2X Spool System

Replicator 2X Spool System

Printing a 1kg filament spool takes around two weeks, but in Taipei's humid climate, the Replicator 2X's filament spools absorb moisture rapidly, affecting print quality. To combat this issue, I designed a spool system to shield filament spools from moisture and dust. It's compatible with MakerBot spools, but might not work for others. The necessary files are attached - spool_system.scad, which utilizes two awesome libraries: polyScrewThread.scad (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8796) and knurledFinishLib.scad (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9095). For printing the provided STL files, adjust settings to 20% infill, 3 shells, and 0.15 layer height. Enable raft and supports for part1.stl only. The required parts include two M6 x 8 bolts, duct tape, two bags of 100g silica gel, two humidity indicators (optional), a sponge, and two 45cm x 35cm space bags. Check the attached photos for detailed instructions.
