Replicator 2X Borosilicate Glass Plate Clips

Updated 02-14-2017: Replaced damaged STL file. This modification features clips designed to hold an inexpensive 11" x 8.5" glass plate securely in place on the heated bed of a Replicator 2X - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1908836. These innovative clips are engineered to hold a 200mm x 300mm x 3mm borosilicate glass plate firmly to the heated build plate of the Makerbot Replicator 2X. A demo video showcasing these clips is available at https://youtu.be/LAVd1VNNC0Y. Using an inexpensive document frame glass plate worked well initially, but it often cracked after a busy printing schedule due to repeated heating and cooling. This was not entirely unexpected. I discovered affordable borosilicate glass plates on Amazon that perfectly met my needs (link and search terms in comments). The 300mm length of these clips allows them to hold the plate securely while remaining completely outside the print area. Like earlier designs, they utilize the groove on the underside of the Replicator 2X's build plate to keep them in place. You may need to adjust the size of the clips to fit your own borosilicate glass plate; therefore, I have included a FreeCAD file for modification purposes. Print settings used include: * Printer Brand: MakerBot * Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: .2 mm * Infill: 10%
