Replicator 2 tuning: improve main PCB & motor drivers cooling
thingiverse
The printer's base houses the main PCB and 4 motor drivers; its airflow design could be improved. A fan can enhance cooling with this modification. The smart temperature-sensing circuit, powered by a 12V 80mm fan (available at any PC store), is connected to the replicator's 24V power source on the main PCB. Locate and solder the marked holes for power and ground. Secure a small heatsink with double-sided tape to each driver, ensuring no short circuits occur. Download the circuit files from http://radiokot.ru/circuit/digital/automat/76/01.zip for assembly instructions; a Russian article is available at http://radiokot.ru/circuit/digital/automat/76/, with an automatic English translation found here: http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ru&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=ru&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fradiokot.ru%2Fcircuit%2Fdigital%2Fautomat%2F76%.
