Replicator 2 camera mount adapter
thingiverse
Upgraded my Makerbot Replicator 2 with an Octopi to run it and had a camera taped to my Replicator 2 for almost a year now. It was positioned so close that I had to use a wide angle lens just to see the prints clearly. Looking around for a camera mount, I couldn't find one that worked right away. So I started searching for any raspberry pi camera arm design that could be adapted for my needs instead. I found Bogdan87's design and it was really good. Printing it out, I held it in place and saw that I needed to position it just above my top rail for optimal placement. Not wanting to screw anything into the front of my printer, I designed a little adapter to attach the arm to the front and have it wrap around the top rail to hold itself securely in place. Now I can slide the camera back and forth and angle it as needed. Plus, I still have the wide angle lens that I can clip on to see the entire print bed for large prints. I also designed a second openscad file with the mount from the other design included as part of the print, while cutting out even more material for when I put a top on my printer. You'll need to set your path to the mount from the other design for it to render properly. But don't worry, I've included the finished stl that you can use right away. It might or might not require some support during printing, but I haven't tried it out yet.
