This fan grill is designed for a downward surface blower, preventing dust from entering the impeller fan by allowing an air filter to be added. The 'bump' feature blocks sideways air and matches the blower bracket's height. If you know of similar or better alternatives, feel free to share. To install, use the provided screws with the bump facing the blower, attach a Web Vent Filters 12-pack (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Web-Vent-Filters-12-Pack-WVENT/100351670#.UpzTBF6A2Hs) with hot melt glue, and print the grill without support or raft.
