Replicator 2 / 2X Extruder Bolt Thumb Knobs

Initially, I frequently dismantled my extruder, which led me to constantly search for a 2.5mm hex key. To solve this problem, I designed thumb knobs that would be compact enough to maintain the original appearance and function while offering sufficient grip for tightening the extruder assembly securely. After several trials, I discovered that printing at .2mm layer height with a 6% scale increase, along with 2 shells at 50% infill, produced satisfactory results. However, using a hot-end temperature of 60C without a filament fan resulted in poor print quality. To achieve the desired fit, I carefully trimmed the parts with a #12 scalpel blade and secured them to the bolt head with CA glue. Ensure that the bolts are removed during the gluing process to prevent the glue from seeping into the extruder assembly. On the bright side, if this happens accidentally, you'll never need to disassemble your extruder again. Enjoy!
