Replicator 1 Extruder Cooler

I created this extruder cooler for my Replicator 1 with one main goal: I use a detachable glass build plate held by flexible metal clips. These clips project upward from the build platform and can hit any object slightly lower than the gantry. As a result, I designed this to release a jet of air just below the nozzle's tip, keeping the entire apparatus above the base of the gantry. It was created to need no extra hardware (except for a 24v 40mm fan) to install. Instructions Print Directions: Sliced in Simplify 3d with these settings: 300 micron, 3 shells, 25% infill, white PLA printed at 220 deg. Designed not to require any supports. Install Instructions: You will need a 40mm x 12mm fan, 24v + connectors / long wires. Remove the left M3 bolt from the stepstruder fan: Remove the black plastic standoff between the fan and the radiator. Insert the cooler where the standoff used to be: Re-insert the M3 bolt and tighten as usual. I connected my fan with several small zip-ties, then added a border of hot-glue just to seal it up. But if you have your own M3 bolts, holes are provided. Run the + leads from the fan around the existing wiring harness (or in the harness) to the "Extra" terminal on the Mightyboard (near a corner). Be sure to enable cooling in your slicer! Fan options: Habitsmaker Duraclone
