Replica Stemmed Point
thingiverse
Dr. Loren Davis expertly knapped this point, which was later carefully scanned by Alex Nyers at the Pacific Slope Archaeology Lab. This stunning point draws inspiration from Western Stemmed points found on the Columbia Plateau, which date back to the late or terminal Pleistocene era. To capture its intricate details, a David white light scanner was used. The original material consisted of high-quality black obsidian. For optimal viewing, I applied a subtle smoothing process (using Meshlab's laplacian 3-step technique) to remove some of the surface noise from the artifact. This point is not yet available for printing.
