Replica heatsink for ZX Spectrum+
thingiverse
This is a replica heatsink designed specifically for attachment to a Sinclair ZX Spectrum+ case, aiming to give it an external appearance that matches the Spectrum 128k model, affectionately known as the 'Toastrack' or 'Toastie'. The Sinclair Spectrum+ can be found at reasonable prices, but genuine Toasties are relatively rare and often come with a hefty price tag. Many retro computer enthusiasts have opted (or plan to) build one of the modern kits that accurately replicate the Spectrum 128k in both physical dimensions and design, which can then be installed within a readily available Spectrum+ case. By printing this heatsink and attaching it to the side of the case, the result will be an externally accurate representation of the Spectrum 128k model. Please note that this replica heatsink is specifically designed for use with a Spectrum+ case only, not the original Spectrum 128K case, which would likely be undesirable anyway. DISCLAIMER - This cosmetic replica is not intended to function as a real heatsink! It lacks the internal flanges necessary for contact with the voltage regulator and, more importantly, it's made from non-thermally conductive material. Sorry, I had to clarify that!
