Replica E63 "Blade Runner" Lamp
thingiverse
This is a full-sized replica of Umberto Riva's E63 lamp, which made an appearance in Blade Runner 2049 in the police station. Also included is the SketchUp file it was designed in - you can open it by using SketchUp Free in your browser without downloading SketchUp. Check out a video of it in detail: https://youtu.be/BkdZPCW5U2Q It is full-sized, and includes an adjustment system not in the original design, but necessary to compensate for plastic used in the design rather than metal with metal hardware. Full instructions will be added soon. We'll also be adding some automation and sensors in a future iteration of this project. M3x20 mm nuts and bolts were used for the hardware and the adjustment system uses M6x40 mm nuts and bolts. A little friction welding is used. Check our channel for a tutorial on how to do it if you're not familiar with the technique. The light bulb socket/chord we used is similar to this one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Rextin-extension-Pendant-Lighting-Restaurant/dp/B07J9R68MS It has a 10mm threaded backing and a fitting that holds the socket in place with the shade.
