Replacement Xbox 360 Joystick/Thumbstick ( + extension)

These are replacement joysticks designed for Xbox 360 controllers that can be printed using 3D printers. The design isn't identical to the original, but it's tailored to work well on a variety of printers. You'll need to purchase a T8 Torx screwdriver from Amazon or eBay to disassemble your controller and replace the joysticks. Disassembly is straightforward - just remove seven screws and you're done in five minutes. I was dissatisfied with existing joystick extenders because they damaged the controllers over time, so I've uploaded a new design for an extended joystick that's twice as long. Let me know if you need different lengths. Please post make comments if you enjoy this design. Update V2: I've added more clearance to the bottom of the print to help with layer changes and sagging. This should ensure that the model prints well on all slicers. I've also extended the joystick from 8mm to 12mm (the original is only 4mm). Update V3: I've increased the tolerance for lower-end printers, so it should now work on any machine. A small ring has been added along the edge of the joystick for better grip. Two experimental designs have been included - these don't quite work as well as I'd like, but maybe someone can figure out how to make them more grippy. EDIT: July 16th, 2017. I've uploaded the source files from SolidWorks so you can easily customize the grips to your liking and post remixes if you do. The other configurations are available in the configuration tab. Print Settings: Resolution: 0.2mm or lower Infill: 5% Notes: Rotate your print 90 degrees on the x-axis so it's upright, then print with supports. I don't recommend using layer heights above 0.2mm because the supports will stick to the surface and be hard to remove. Layers may break easily if you use higher layer heights. You might need a raft if your printer or slicer isn't calibrated properly. Feel free to experiment with different print settings, even at low infill settings it should still be strong enough with three shells.
