Replacement wheel for a trolley bag
thingiverse
This 2D model is designed for crafting wheel parts of a trolley bag. As different bags may have non-standardized wheels, adjustments to the inner and outer limits could be necessary. The SVG file provides dimensions such as an outer diameter of 64mm, hole diameters of 22mm and 12.5mm, and disc widths of 9.5mm, 6.5mm, respectively. Slight deviations in the outer diameter or disc width should not pose problems, but ensure that the inner diameter of the side discs fits your trolley. The required materials include wooden panels with thicknesses of 6.5mm and 9.5mm (or appropriate for your trolley bag bearings). Use a CNC mill or laser cutter along with wood glue and clamps (or tape) to manufacture the parts. Begin by removing plastic components from your broken wheel's axis, measure the metal bearing diameter, adapt the 2D model if needed (tools like Inkscape can help), create a toolpath/GCode (PyCAM is an option), and execute the GCode using software such as EMC2. For assembly, insert the first outer disc slightly more inwards than necessary, apply glue, then add the inner disc and break-away piece with glue on their outward-facing sides. Finally, push the second outer disc into position and clamp the three discs together for several hours to securely assemble the new wheel part.
