I designed a replacement for the upper clip that fits inside the lid of my Black and Decker Smart Boil 1.6 Liter Cordless Kettle JKC650. The original upper clip had broken, so I studied it carefully to create an improved version based on its design. To make this new clip more reliable, I might adjust its shape slightly, lowering the nub at the end and making it longer. This should enhance its functionality. Additionally, I'm considering creating a replacement for the lower clip since it appears worn down. Since this kettle is only used for boiling water, I'll keep a close eye on it to ensure it remains safe. In the future, I might replace it with a food-safe or anti-microbial PLA material to further prevent contamination risks. *Edit after testing - The new clip did shrink a bit during printing, but redrawing its design helped resolve the issue. Based on my experience, I recommend using 100% infill for this type of part to minimize shrinkage and ensure accurate fitment.
