Replacement Universal Joint for Libman Freedom Spray Mop
thingiverse
I keep my mop stored in the coat closet to conceal it - but unfortunately, it frequently falls from its hanging spot. The mop has tumbled too many times, causing the universal joint that lets it swivel and connects the mop head to the handle to finally give out. I realized that in a 3D printing household, things don't fall apart, they just need some fixing - so my mop needs to stay in working order. This part is designed as an exact replica of the original factory-made joint; however, someone might come along and strengthen its weak points, making a better version that will never fail again. Created with Autodesk Inventor, the file is included for easy modification. Print Settings: Printer: Folger Tech Kossel 2020 Delta Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .2 (first layer .25) Infill: 25% Honeycomb Notes: Full supports are required: Contact Z Distance: .035 (detachable) Pattern: honeycomb Print PLA - 210 (first layer 215) Post-Printing Steps: Step 1 Remove supports Step 2 Attach to mop and handle Step 3 If the printed part doesn't fit securely or needs some flexing to sit on the mop, submerge it in hot water for a few seconds and adjust the part to get a perfect fit. I designed this using Autodesk Inventor.
