Replacement tusks for (small model) elephant
thingiverse
I designed these curved and tapered wooden elephant tusks using OpenScad for restoration purposes. The program isn't overly complicated, and it's fully customizable to suit specific needs. Unfortunately, the original ivory tusks are long gone, making this model a great replica. This particular design is modeled after the Sumatran elephant, which can be found on Wikipedia. To achieve the curved shape, I utilized a parabolic segment in my code, as it was simple to implement and closely resembles the actual tusk's appearance. The tusks are printed using vase mode, resulting in hollow pieces that are somewhat fragile due to their delicate nature. In contrast, standard printing mode didn't yield a smooth enough surface for this particular design.
