Replacement Thomas Track Connector
thingiverse
I'm redesigning track connectors for my grandson's Thomas train set after some of the original parts broke. To test different versions, I'm printing several designs at once in OpenSCAD. If you have access to OpenSCAD, feel free to modify this code as needed - it's entirely parametric and allows for customization on the fly. Currently, these models generate four connectors simultaneously; however, with OpenSCAD, you can adjust the number of connectors, their spacing, and more to your liking. The standard TrackConnector model takes an unacceptably long time to print at a 0.10mm layer height with 100% fill settings. If speed is a priority, I recommend using ThomasConnector-thinbase-close-fa25.stl instead - though I still advise generating your own custom design via OpenSCAD for the best results.
