Replacement switch lever for Metcal MX500

thingiverse

This replacement controls the up-and-down sliding part that regulates the iron select switch on Metcal MX500 soldering stations. The initial prototype has rough measurements and untidy openSCAD code, but a few tweaks with a file and sandpaper transformed it into a reliable tool, as demonstrated by the print in the gallery where you can also see the uncalibrated filament feed. Instructions: Print the replacement using ABS material before smoothing out any rough edges with a file and sandpaper. For clarity, use white-out to paint over visible windows, thereby indicating which connected iron is currently engaged.
