Replacement step stool rubber foot
thingiverse
Replacement feet for generic step stools with 5/8" OD steel tube legs are available, preventing scratches on wood floors. The bottom is domed like the original part. Instead of discarding your step stool or searching for replacements at hardware stores, print this easy-to-make part that needs no support. OpenSCAD source code allows customization with variable "OD" for different tubing sizes. Print with flexible PLA filament and use these settings: extruder 205°C, bed 85°C with ABS-juice coated blue tape, 0.5 mm nozzle, 33% infill, 0.3 mm layer height, cooling on constant after 1st 1.0 mm, and print slowly (about 15 minutes per copy). After printing, push the foot into the tubing for a new, functional stool. Special thanks to LucidOne for his curve-forming code at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6455/#files, which simplified the process.
