Replacement sistema food storage container clip
thingiverse
These "Sistema" food containers, seemingly exclusive to Australia and New Zealand, are quite reliable but have two notable flaws. One issue lies in the clip attachment point on the container's small hooks, which can result in irreparable damage upon breakage. The other weakness is the lid-holding clip that breaks at its hinge point. Despite having numerous containers with broken clips, I decided to design a replacement. My research led me to two types of clips: one attached to the container body (available in three sizes, featuring flat clips), and another attached to the container lid (only one size, with curved clips). This replacement focuses on the former type of clip designed using OpenSCAD with parametric code. If you come across a different clip size, feel free to inform me or modify it yourself. Perhaps in future, I may work on the curved style clip. Despite my best efforts with my printer, achieving a nice curve on the back of the clip proved challenging, thus requiring additional support. However, if you don't need or prefer not to use the support, simply comment it out in the scad file. To utilize the scad or make modifications, you will need the pandpp module as well, which contains essential maths functions for drawing circles and fillets. Upon printing, ensure that the diameter of the small-diameter rod measures exactly 3mm; any larger diameter could potentially break the container. Clean up any excess with a sharp knife.
