Replacement Roomba Tires
thingiverse
Replacement tires for Roomba model 880, which may also fit other models but have not been thoroughly tested. These tires were designed using NiNjaTek TPU with a Shore Hardness of 85A. After years of use, my original Roomba tire tread wore down to the plastic rims, causing the robot to slip on hardwood floors and struggle to cross room thresholds. Replacing individual tires was nearly impossible online, but purchasing complete wheel assemblies for $30 each led me to create these replacement tires using a roll of TPU valued at around $25. To install the new tires, start by removing each wheel assembly from your Roomba model 880. Here's how: 1) Flip the robot onto its back. 2) Remove the two screws holding the battery cover in place. 3) Take out the battery. 4) Remove the spinning brush by unscrewing it with a flathead screw. 5) Remove the large bottom cover by taking out one screw behind each wheel. 6) Each wheel assembly can now be removed; take out three screws on both sides and lift straight up. 7) Carefully remove the original tire, using a pocket knife to cut it off if necessary. 8) Slip the 3D printed tire onto the wheel and reassemble everything in the reverse order. 9) Enjoy your newly equipped Roomba.
