I recently tested an unconventional roofing solution, utilizing 165 x 268 roof tiles to replace three broken slate tiles on my roof. The new tiles were made from asphalt and coated with a layer of bitumen, purely for experimental purposes. To my surprise, six months have passed and the makeshift fix is still holding strong, remaining dry and secure. I'm sharing this information in case it proves useful to others who may be facing similar roofing issues. Although I initially intended this as an experiment, it's worth noting that genuine slate tiles aren't significantly more expensive than these alternatives, making them a viable option for those seeking a more traditional look.
