Replacement Pointer Nub Thing
thingiverse
I designed this replacement cap for TrackPoint style pointing devices. It was created to replace the existing one on my Twiddler 2, thanks to the influence of my idol, Steve Mann. This design should also fit some old models of Lenovo, Dell, and IBM laptops that feature nipple-shaped mousing units. However, be cautious: the tall domed top is ideal for use with your thumb, but if you print it as-is and attach it to a ThinkPad before closing the lid, you risk cracking your screen. I recommend downloading the provided SketchUp file and creating a recess in the top surface first. To avoid disappointment, consider this warning. Calipers and Scotch tape are recommended for the project. Please send me images of your broken ThinkPad display so I can share them with others and showcase your ingenuity. This replacement cap should work with TrackPoint style pointing devices. If you like my idol Steve Mann, this model might be right up your alley.
