The tripod's plastic part is damaged; hence, a stronger substitute is provided. To install this replacement, you may need #8 sex bolts with an outer diameter of 13/64. Obtain these from McMaster Carr, specifying "low profile binding bolts" for materials up to 1.25 inches thick. When attaching the pivot pins, apply Loctite on threads and avoid overtightening for smooth hinging. Don't forget to look for tiny screws if needed, which are easily found almost anywhere.
