replacement pedal for kids pedal cars such as Big Wheels
thingiverse
My daughter received an antique pedal car that came equipped with the usual missing pedals. The majority of pedal shafts are 3/8" or 5/16" in diameter, and hers was a 3/8". It turns out most Big Wheels today utilize a 3/8" shaft, making this information potentially helpful for those who own Big Wheels. Note that the peel has rounded edges but still provides an effective grip for little feet. To secure the pedal onto the shaft, you'll need a "Push washer" that fits snugly in the middle open slot. I was able to purchase one at my local hardware store by acquiring the inner washer from a push-on cap similar to the one sold here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000UM2BTQ. My goal is for you to buy a push washer that matches the example picture on this listing or resembles the one sold here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007TQWA74. I'm glad I could provide this helpful information! UPDATE: After receiving numerous requests, I've uploaded the FreeCAD design file so others can easily edit and create their own variations in less time. Instructions To ensure a successful print of this pedal car, it's designed to be printed without supports. Using PLA with 2 shells and 40% fill yields a strong pedal with excellent durability.
