Replacement kog for KogWorks
thingiverse
This is a custom replica for the game KogWorks. We had a replica stolen, so I built a printable one from scratch. Next up: matching the filament colour... Designing This Model The design process for this was somewhat unorthodox. I tried taking photos of the kog and then scanning them but the shadows kept obstructing a clear outline. Luckily, I was able to manually trace one tooth and part of the central hole in Gimp. Then I saved that out. To determine the centre of the hole, I turned to GeoGebra and used it to locate and copy-rotate the tooth accordingly. Next, I opened up Inkscape where I sketched over the image, ultimately saving it as a DXF file.
