This is a replacement Joystick ball designed for The Pacman collection model 8223 from 1up. It is probably compatible with other makes. If you make one for something else and it works, please comment to confirm. Printing at 102% seems to fit best. If the STL imports super small, scale to 1000%. The correct diameter should be ~30.60mm. This project requires one M6 x 1mm Nut. Due to manufacturing deviation, you may have to scale the project up or down a percent to fit your hardware. Scaled at 100% the opening for the nut is 10mm across. I used hardware from Harbor Freight and had to scale to 102%. Tap the nut in to place with a hammer. It will hold snug without glue. It will rest on the inside edge, and will not recess too far. There is additional clearance for the remaining joystick post to screw in to the ball past the nut. The clearance is tight so it can cut a thread in to the plastic and secure it further, but not so tight that it should require force. There is a fillet at the top and base of the shaft so the print does not require support, but the cavity will not collapse during print. Print with the opening facing down. There is a flat edge on the bottom of the ball for additional bed adhesion. Do NOT use Honeycomb fill pattern below 15%. Low density honeycomb or square fill will generate a vertical support structure centered on the print; that will go around and not attach to the joystick mount feature. Ensure your fill pattern is dense enough to touch the center of the print. This project contains a substantial overhang, dull colored filaments work best, high silks are more difficult. Consider decreasing print speed, print temps, and increasing fan speeds/ventilation to increase accuracy for the bottom half. As seen in the photos above, flaws on the bottom half are difficult to see by the player.
