Replacement Housing for CR-10 Smart (Pro)

<p>This model is the top lid which can take a Bigtreetech TFT 3.5 display and is meant to replace the DWIN display that comes with the Creality CR-10 Smart (Pro) printer.</p><p>I was pretty disapointed by the controlling capabilities of the original display, so I decided to replace it with the BTT-TFT 3.5.</p><p>To make the BTT-TFT fit perfect on the original bottom part which snaps onto the printer, I designed a new top lid.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Please notice: </strong><i>You have to make some cutting/grinding of the original bottom part and also remove the IDC shroud for EXP3 on the BTT-TFT 3.5 (as shown in picturesa above).</i></p><h5><i>Keep in mind: If you do that, you'll void your warranty of the printer!</i></h5><p>Since the CR-10 Smart printer uses a 6-pin JST XH connector and the BTT-TFT has only 5 pins, you need to either swap out the JST connector or, as I did, make yourself an interface cable. Whatever you do, be carefull not to swap out the <strong>RX</strong> and <strong>TX</strong> wires, as you usually do (i.e. RX to TX and TX to RX).</p><h4>Marlin modifications</h4><p>Along with the hardware modifications, you also need to setup the Marlin firmware accordingly, otherwise you won't be able to get a proper communication between printer and BTT-TFT. I was utilising the Marlin fork of <i><strong>Insanity Automation</strong></i>, which you'll <a href="https://github.com/InsanityAutomation/Marlin/tree/CrealityDwin2.0_Bleeding">find here</a>.<br>The lines I've changed in <i>Configuration.h</i> to make it work, you'll see in the last picture.&nbsp;<br>If you need some assitance for this, drop me a message.</p><p>After that build the <strong>CR10 Smart</strong> build environment, copy the binary to an SD-Card and flash it onto your printer.</p><h4>BOM</h4><p>Beside the plastic for printing this lid, you only need 4 M3 heat set inserts.</p>
