The Aurora AS424C shredder's middle gear replacement prevents paper jams caused by excessive motor torque. The gear features 1.1mm adjustable pin holes in its smaller teeth, allowing metal pins to be inserted for increased shear strength without printing at an angle. Newly added is a hub for the top of the gear to stabilize it. To install, print the gear flat and insert rigid metal pins (1.1mm diameter, 15-18mm long) into the pin holes, hammering them in as far as possible. Thumbtack pins work well. Change the pin_diameter variable in shredder-gear.scad for different pin sizes if needed.
