Replacement frames for Nike Eyeglasses 7100/1 001

Replacement frames for Nike Eyeglasses 7100/1 001 were custom designed after having multiple instances where the original frame kept breaking at the bend on the arm. Eventually, replacement parts became scarce. Rather than discard a valuable pair of lenses, a bespoke solution was created that perfectly fit my face and secured to the back side of the head using M2 screws with adjustable lengths according to lens thickness. Key updates have been made since the initial design: January 7, 2016 - The right arm now features Carbon Fiber printing, marking the Mark1 model's standout feature. January 13, 2016 - Both arms were later modified with Carbon Fiber for improved sturdiness and fit. Print settings utilized in this project are as follows: Printer: MarkForged Mark1 Rafts: None Supports: Enabled Resolution: 0.1mm Infill percentage: 50% Notes: Concentric Carbon Fiber layers at positions 5-7 and 30-32 were used for added strength. Designing the lens shape was done without a 3D Scanner; instead, the lens was traced directly onto a computer screen using a simple method of taping it in place.
