Replacement fan and cable management for 500W 52mm spindle on MPCNC
thingiverse
I'm utilizing this spindle on my MPCNC: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/CNC-Spindle-500W-Air-Cooled-0-5kw-Milling-Motor-Spindle-Speed-Power-Converter-52mm-Clamp-13pcs/32702579251.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.4b524c4dvs86Ks My own carelessness and poor cable management led to a power cord touching the original fan, causing it to become stripped and short-circuited, ultimately blocking the fan and rendering it inoperable. I needed to replace it, so I designed a new fan model. To prevent this issue from happening again, I also created a fender that attaches to the spindle, keeping the cable safely away from the fan. Additionally, I designed a cable clamp for attaching the cable firmly to the gantry. This clamp is compatible with 25mm versions but can be easily modified for other diameters. For the fender installation, all you need are an M4 screw and an M4 Nylock nut. The new fan features a press-fit design similar to the original. Remove the retaining ring from the old fan and tap the new fan onto the spindle axis using a large hex nut and the back of a large screwdriver. Apply gentle taps rather than force, then refit the retaining ring (if it's bent, replace it with a new one for safety).
