Replacement End Plug for Mountain Bike Handle Bars
thingiverse
My mountain bike's handlebar end plugs fell out, necessitating repairs before an upcoming triathlon. Race officials require secure plugs to prevent hazards in case of crashes. I adapted a SCAD file (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:13301) for custom 3/4" diameter plugs, which can be modified for any size. The plug consists of two parts: the actual plug and a spreader that clamps it in place. I used a 25 mm M3 bolt and nut for a tight fit, securing the nut into a slot in the spreader's back with a soldering iron.
