Modified to a 70mm overall width to match vintage dimensions, removed extended shaft and modified hole diameter to 6.5mm (one-quarter inch). To secure the shaft, insert an old metal D adapter into the hole and tap it firmly down with a hammer until snugly in place. This modification fits my Hotpoint perfectly.
