Replacement Drawer Roller

A colleague at work had an old drawer with a wheel that was broken from its runner. The manufacturer stopped making replacement wheels, presenting a perfect opportunity for a 3D printer to solve the problem! I modeled the existing wheel using Autodesk's 123D Design and cylinders of various sizes. I used the Combine/Merge tool to combine shapes and the Combine/Subtract tool to remove excess material. To give the wheel a professional finish, I chamfered its edges, but after printing the first prototype, I realized it needed more, so I added more chamfers in the second prototype. I also created a recessed area on one side where the screw would fit snugly when attached to the bracket. The finished wheel measures 28.2mm in diameter and has a 7mm hole in its center. The extension on the side is 5.26mm high. Printing Settings: Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 100% Notes: Printed with Taulman 910 Alloy Nylon, which should last forever. How I Designed This: I designed this wheel in 123D Design by starting with a cylinder of the correct dimensions and chamfering its sides. Then, I added another cylinder to create an extension on one side. To make a screw hole through the center, I used a 3rd 7mm cylinder. Finally, I carved out a recessed area for the screw head using a 4th 10mm cylinder.
